SYSTEMIC WORK WITH HORSES \ EQUINE ASSISTED COACHING

When we follow the wisdom and movement of the horses, they always bring us to the essence! Without judgment and out of love, touching exactly that which needs attention and energy.

That’s why I love working with the systemic wisdom of horses. Everyone is part of different systems, such as family, work or friends. All these systems consciously and unconsciously affect our behaviour as individuals and as teams. With the wisdom of horses, our behavioural patterns, such as feeling overly responsible, working too hard, putting the needs of others above your own or being such a perfectionist that good is never enough, can be made visible. Horses are herd animals and prey animals and constantly feel what is needed to make a situation safe. With this, horses are completely in the here and now. With their prey instincts and hypersensitive awareness, horses size people up instantly and accurately.

From that strength horses show us humans what is going on below the surface and what needs attention, as individuals or as a team.

In my role as an equine assisted coach I indicate what the horses are showing us and how this relates to the individual or team. By using representatives to stand in the place of something or someone in the system, it is possible to restore the balance.

During the equine assisted workshops, we focus on both personal and organisational issues impacting individuals and teams. The feedback we receive tells us time and again that the learning is highly transferable, and the changes are sustainable. Horses hold up the mirror to leadership behaviours and facilitate rapid insights and development of leadership skills.

\ SYSTEMIC COACHING DAYS

Join a group coaching day and let yourself be guided by the wisdom of the horses.

Perhaps the idea of discovering yourself and being immersed deeper into yourself in the presence of others is rather daunting. But that is precisely the strength of the small group. Safe and familiar in recognizing each other. The dynamic of a small group is of added value as you uncover your true self.

In these coaching sessions you are able to join as a participant or as a representative. As a participant you will work on your own situation. As a representative you can be deployed as someone or something from the system of the participant. For example, you can stand for the partner, the mother, the father, the desire, the dilemma etc. for someone else. And in doing this you often touch something deeper in yourself.

The coaching days are held in energetic collaboration with my colleague Iris Garnier, who is also a Kifungo certified coach for Systemic/Shamanic Work with Horses. We started working together in 2017 as by combining our individual strengths, we strengthen the experience for all participants. Together, we are able to create a safe space that allows you to face your personal challenges, as four eyes see more than two.

\ TEAM COACHING WORKSHOP

We work with organisational teams to make the team dynamics visible and to recognize the ‘invisible’ patterns in the group. The horses reveal which themes play a role and can help restore order and balance. The team can then let the energy flow freely, whereby each team member can fully take up their own position and from there contribute more effectively to the whole.

The content of the workshop is determined on the basis of an intake interview with the client and is tailored to the current situation and specific learning needs of the team. It is also determined how “deep” the reflections may go. Participants are stimulated to step out of the ‘comfort zone’ and experience new ways of looking, acting and communicating.During the workshop, theory and practice alternate. Experience with horses is not relevant.
